Delta Sigma Pi occurs as agent fraternity organized to foster a survey of business around universities; to encourage scholarship, mixer activity & a association of students for their reciprocal advancement by search & practice; to promote nearer affiliation between a commercial globe & students of commerce, & to more a higher standard of commercial ethics & culture & the civic & commercial welfare of the community.

History

Delta Sigma Pi was founded by Alexander Frank Makay, Henry Albert Tienken, Harold Valentine Jacobs, & Alfred Moysello. A iv members founded a organisatiin withinside 1907, partially in response to existence discrimated against by an already constituted fraternity on campus, according to religious & ethnic reasons. Inside 1911, a fraternity published its number one newssheet, which presently would become known as A Deltasig. the Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship key was created inside 1912 & is at present awarded to a graduating senior sustaining the greatest accumulative GPA at any business school using a Delta Sigma Pi chapter. Presently when a 2nd chapter was founded at Northwestern School of Commerce. National meetings became a regular tradition & to this day the national fraternity meets each more month to conduct business & elect its statesman. When rapid expansion in the early 1920s, the fraternity opened its national headquarters inside Chicago, Illinois. Inside 1957, a home office moved to Oxford, Ohio, adjacent to the campus of Miami University. A large vary within a history of the fraternity took place in 1975, when the Board of Directors mandated that chapters were allowed to initiate female business students, to conform by owning Title IX.
